Little Howrah Beach is a sheltered beach separated from the main Howrah Beach by a small rocky spit.

The beach is sheltered from large ocean swells by Howrah Point, the South Arm Peninsula and Bruny Island but can be exposed to swells travelling up the Derwent River during stormy weather.

There are spectacular views from the beach of the Derwent Estuary and surrounds, from Bruny Island in the south, to Hobart and Mount Wellington in the west.

Little Howrah Beach is accessed via Howrah Road.
