In conclusionLegislation relating to the provision of public passenger transport services in Tasmania has required Council to undergo an Accreditation process under the direction of the Tasmanian Transport Operator Accreditation Board in conjunction with the Department of Infrastructure Energy and Resources. Council is therefore required to abide by procedures that are outlined in the Transport Operator Accreditation (TOA) manual in respect to the Community Bus Service provided. We would like to take this opportunity in advising you of the Conditions for the use of the Community Bus. A. All drivers are to have the current licences required for driving the Community Bus. B. The Community Bus is to be used in accordance with Council policy. C. Drivers shall comply with all legislation related to the use of Community Bus and follow Transport and Road Rules at all times. Drivers are responsible for any offences committed whilst driving the Community Bus. D. Drivers acknowledge that they are required to be available to drive the community bus for a minimum of 1 booking per month. E. Alcohol is not to be consumed in or adjacent to the Community Bus. F. Smoking is not permitted on the Community Bus. G. Drivers are responsible for the prompt reporting of any incident, accident or damage involving the Community Bus within their control. This report must be made directly to the Workshop Coordinator. H. Drivers must be aware of: Pre-Departure Inspections, Mechanical Faults/Defects Report, Incident Report Forms, Emergency Procedures, Emergency Contact Numbers, Contingency Plan for Vehicle Breakdown, Managing Passenger Behaviour and Health & Safety Policy. An information pack, training and instruction will be provided if council was able to use your services as a voluntary driver.
