Reporting to our Manager Community Services, the Team Leader Community Volunteer Services will have a highly developed understanding and experience of the Commonwealth Home Support Program, the Tasmanian Home and Community Care Program and their target groups and the Aged Care Standards.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated skills and experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic plans and policies at the local level, as well as the ability to lead, motivate, supervise and support workers.

Some of the key duties

Provide a coordinated volunteer service to targeted groups of the Clarence community in accordance with council strategies and objectives, including:

  • Leading the Volunteer program in the analysis of information and data to formulate service plans, goals and outcomes, that align with the council’s strategic plans and are compliant with the Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Coordinating the recruitment, support and retention of volunteers and ensuring each volunteer is provided with a thorough induction, guidance and training, and are compliant with external agencies and our internal policy requirements.
  • Overseeing and ensuring all tasks and work sites are safe and that appropriate safety management plans are in place to ensure robust risk management systems.
  • Developing, managing and implementing current and new program plans and goals, in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring the program continues to adapt and respond to changes in legislation, regulatory compliance, emerging trends and community needs.
  • Developing and reviewing program policies and procedures to align with local, state and Commonwealth standards, ensuring best practice approach is maintained.

The position is full-time and ongoing. A base salary between $102,093.90 and $117,460.62 will be negotiated (dependent on skills and experience) with the preferred candidate + 12.5% superannuation and a 19-day month.
