We are looking for an experienced and qualified Mechanic to join our Workshop at the Mornington Depot. Some of the main tasks of this position will include:
- Conducting preventative, routine and scheduled maintenance and being responsible for the quality of work at a minimum of OEM level, both supervised and unsupervised.
- Performing fault diagnosis and rectification of vehicles, plant, small plant, equipment and assets associated with Council operations.
- Performing technical inspections on mechanical equipment and assessing parts and materials required to effect repairs in both the workshop and out in the field.
About you
- Hold a post-trade certificate or equivalent, with completion of relevant additional post-trade training modules or equivalent experience.
- Relevant knowledge and a demonstrated ability to undertake welding and fabrication design, repairs, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of mechanical workshop operations and associated equipment.
- A sound knowledge of work health and safety issues related to the role.
What we offer you
The role is full-time (38 hours per week) and ongoing. A base salary between $75,071.65 and $86,731.41 will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) to the preferred candidate + 12.5% superannuation and a 9-day fortnight.
