We’re looking for a friendly, creative, and dedicated Gallery Support Officer to join our team at the Rosny Farm. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in bringing cultural programs and exhibitions to life in a vibrant, welcoming space.
What you’ll do:
- Be the face of the gallery – Ensure the gallery is open and welcoming to visitors during advertised hours, offering support to artists, curators, and the public.
- Engage with visitors – Share your enthusiasm for the exhibitions, the collection, and events, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
- Keep things looking great – Maintain high professional standards for presentation, ensuring displays, lighting, and labelling are all on point.
- Work with the team – Collaborate with artists, curators, and the City Culture team to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
- Support marketing efforts – Help keep the gallery’s promotional materials and online presence up to date, supporting our social media, website, and newsletters.
- Assist with administration – Manage exhibition-related paperwork, including sales, invitations, and catalogues.
- Plan events – Help coordinate opening events, artist talks, and public programs.
- Track attendance – Collect visitor data to help us assess and improve our programs.
What we’re looking for:
- A passion for the arts and a love of working with people
- Experience supporting arts administration and working with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and a knack for time management
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- A team player with a positive, adaptable attitude
- Digital literacy and a strong understanding of health and safety practices
- Bonus points for a tertiary qualification in arts or a related field!

What we offer you
- 3 days per fortnight. Note that this role requires weekend availability, with one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per fortnight, plus an additional weekday per fortnight (day to be negotiated).
- Ongoing contract
- A base salary between $66,218.98 and $73,292.57 (pro-rata) will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) + 12.5% superannuation. Weekend overtime rates apply.
