The Department of State Growth has recently completed a Planning Study for the Rokeby Road Corridor. The Planning Study identified options to improve safety for all road users, improve travel time reliability, and encourage public and active transport such as, walking and cycling.
The Study will look at how to widen South Arm Road from two lanes to four lanes between Pass Road and Acton Road, when this should be done, and how the work should be staged in line with future traffic increases.
Options were examined to improve key intersections along the road such as Burtonia Street, Hawthorn Place, Droughty Point Road, Oakdowns Parade and Acton Road. The Study looked at new infrastructure to encourage public and active transport.
